things that are terrible, vol. 15: walking around baltimore

WARNING: beware of falling objects while enjoying the spring weather

Gahhhhhhh baltimore.

today's weather has been absolutely beautiful. it's one of those rare spring days where, thanks to some luck and the jet stream, it has been uncharacteristically warm (mid-80s) and sunny. after spending much of the day doing work, i decided to head out for a short walk in the sunshine. seemed like a good idea at the time, and it might have been, except for the fact that i live in baltimore, where it is impossible to go for a short walk without encountering all kinds of crazy.

in just 20 minutes:

1) i nearly died when someone launched a large glass vase out their 4th floor window and it landed and shattered 3 feet from me (there seemed to be some sort of altercation happening in that apartment. of course.), and then

2) on my way home i stopped by rite aid for some toothpaste, where i overheard a man giving the following advice to his female companion: "you know that fruity body spray? yeah, i've been drinking that. umm-hmm. it does the trick."
nice.

so much for a relaxing walk... i'm just glad i made it home in one piece.
