THE HIPSTER MOUSTACHE TREND HAS GOT TO STOP.
don't get me wrong - i used to enjoy a hilarious comedy moustache as much as anyone, but seriously, there are limits. a few weeks ago when i was in a trendy little store in hampden with KH it hit me that what i'd suspected all along had in fact come true: comedy moustaches (real and fake) have become so ubiquitous that they are no longer hilarious, they are officially REALLY ANNOYING.
yes, that's right: hipsters have sucked the joy out of moustaches.
like many hipster trends (e.g. wayfarers, converse, i could go on...), comedy moustaches began as a sort of endearingly weird, hilarious thing you spotted on someone once... and then you turn around and suddenly the ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD decides that they should grow a comedy moustache. so, in just a matter of weeks, something quirky and weird becomes trite and painful. and you end up with things like this.

i am certainly not the only one to call for an end to this moustache madness, others have also posted similar pleas on the internet, including one hilarious post where i found this brilliant quotation:
"I wish hipsters would put less time in trimming and growning [sic] these things out and more time into adding other dimensions to their personalities."
ha. couldn't have said it better myself.
