two things:
1) my very first thought was "why on earth would anyone ever need these?" you know, since there are far more practical stickers out there with, like, rainbows and unicorns on them. but then i started thinking that these would be a great alternative grading scheme to use for my undergrads. excellent paper? you get a doctor sticker. terrible paper? you get the bus driver sticker. who needs letter grades when you can give each student a glimpse at their future? plus, this seems like a reasonable alternative to just stapling burger king applications to the really bad papers, which is what i usually do.
2) while i applaud their use of gender neutral job titles (firefighter rather than fireman, etc.) and the fact that they show a male librarian/female firefighter/female doctor, etc., clearly their efforts only went so far, because they really phoned it in when it came to the nurse sticker. or maybe i just never realized that nursing and teaching were exactly the same profession?
