rant of the week: toothy smile edition

Can you tell which one of these headlines is from The New Yorker and which one is from US Weekly? No? That's because THEY'RE ALL STUPID.

You know what i hate more than anne hathaway? articles about why i should/shouldn't hate anne hathaway.

since the day it was announced that anne hathaway would be starring in Les Mis, practically every news source (and i use the term "news" loosely) has published a hack job in which a staff journalist (i use the term "journalist" loosely as well) throws together whatever keywords they remember from Psych 101, then sprinkles in fun terms like "toothy smile" and "pixie cut" to produce a shitty essay analyzing anne hathaway, the people who hate anne hathaway, the people who love anne hathaway, and everyone else in between. these articles are ridiculous, pointless filler and FOR FUCK'S SAKE WHY MUST THEY POLLUTE MY FACEBOOK NEWSFEED EVERY DAY?

for the love of god, can't we just get back to talking about things that really matter - like prince harry's new bald spot?
