A few minutes ago, i was browsing some of the websites where i usually go to get my news because i was a little curious about how they would each break the story that
north korean dictator kim jong-il is dead. at first it wasn't too exciting. i found that
the new york times' coverage focused primarily on kim jong-il's relationship with the united states.
the washington post'
s coverage focused on whether his son, kim jong-un would take over. and then i got to
the guardian's website, and saw this:
...um,
really guardian? kim jong-il is dead, the future of north korea is uncertain, there will probably be massive instability in the region - not to mention other pressing news stories like deadly floods in the philippines - and your "breaking news" is that
AN AUSTRALIAN THINKS A DINGO ATE HIS BABY.
really.
* also there is a very irritating typo in that headline which is bothering me, but that is a lesser issue here.
