here are three things that i really did not want to witness today, but did:
1) just as we're beginning our descent, one of the flight attendants randomly gets on the intercom and says "There will be turbulence on the way down. I just want to remind everyone that in the case of an emergency, you should leave all your carry-ons on the plane. Do not try to take your carry-on luggage with you when you exit the plane in the case of an in-flight emergency."
umm... wait, WHAT?! why exactly are you telling us this now?!!
2) overhearing the guy sitting in the row behind me discussing how he's on his way to his phd graduation...(yay! people actually finish phds and graduate! that's reassuring.) but then going on to explain that it took him 8 YEARS to finish and that it was THE WORST TIME OF HIS LIFE (oh awesome. thanks for inspiring me, dude. you couldn't have just left it at "i'm heading to my graduation"?!).
3) upon landing, seeing a pilot walk out of the new belgium airport brew pub (come on dude, at least put a jacket or sweatshirt on over your pilot's uniform when you're getting beers, so you don't freak us all out.) and then turning around to see him heading in the direction of my gate...
yaaaaaay FUN TIMES.
