on the low points in life:

Ever have those "a-ha!" moments? i'm not talking about epiphanies or moments of clarity where you suddenly know how to solve the world's problems. i am talking about the sort of "a-ha!" moment when you suddenly realize just how sad your life is. here are two examples from my life from the past 48 hours:

1) when you're told by two gay friends that they think you spend too much time with gay people and they can tell that it's negatively affecting your (straight) dating life, perhaps it's time to face the fact that maybe you actually are spending too much time with gay people and that it could, in fact, be negatively affecting your dating life.

2) on my way to see some friends last night, i ate 'dinner' in the car (sad enough in and of itself), which consisted of a still partially frozen cinnamon raisin bagel that tasted so freezer-burned that i actually started to worry that it might poison me. when you make a note to self to google whether extremely freezer-burned food can make you sick, maybe it's time to face the fact that you need to look into food stamps.
