the poor thing whipped herself into a cat "barking" frenzy the other day, which started the way most good frenzies start: because she spotted a moth flying around in the sunshine (see video below).
unfortunately, the appearance of two humans in the alley later on did nothing to quell her desire to attack - it merely shifted the focus of her attention (apparently my cat doesn't really differentiate between moths and bartenders trying to take out the trash when it comes to her desire to bite things). well, the sight of a bizarre little cat pressed up against the window snapping her jaw at them* must have been fairly disturbing - at least disturbing enough that one of them knocked on the window pane, most likely in an effort to scare her off. oh, but my baltimore cat is not easily intimidated and so she stayed up there on the window sill and continued snapping her jaw at them until they left, like a crazed but dedicated guard
once they had gone, she continued to just sit there on the sill, surveying the alley with an unmistakeably smug look on her funny little face.
* the whole thing was vaguely reminiscent of another incident that took place several months ago.
